Founder – Late Dr Jayam Subramaniam
The Perinatal Research Foundation (PRF) is a public charitable trust executed on 16-Feb-2000 at Chennai and registered in March 2000 by Late Dr Jayam Subramaniam, The Doyen of Pediatrics and Neonatology and Former Director of Institute of Child Health, Egmore, for the purposes of promoting, maintaining and conducting a research in Perinatal Science.
Since then, PRF under Dr Jayam had been actively involved in many research activities and training programs in collaboration with the Public Health Department of the Government of Tamilnadu and UNICEF.
Vision
- To promote, maintain, and conduct a research in Perinatal Science.
- To promote health education to improve knowledge, attitude, and skills of health care workers of the community.
- To comply with the constitution of India “that every child has the Right of Life, Survival, Development, Education, Protection and Participation to help every child achieve his/her maximum potential in physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural aspects”.
- To promote Holistic Mother and Child care.
Mission
- To conduct research projects in collaboration with public health sectors to identify perinatal and early childhood risk factors in Developmental Medicine.
- To perform developmental screening for all children to identify those at risk for developmental delay. And plan early interventions and remedial measures to meet the developmental goals of the child. Thus was born our NESAVIDHYA- Center for Child Development.
- To provide holistic health care to the Mother and Children, including Adolescents.

After serving the Government of Tamilnadu in various prestigious institutions, she took to supporting her guide and close friend Dr. Jayam Subramaniam. A passionate teacher and an empathetic Pediatrician, she is the force behind the sustenance of The Perinatal Research Foundation and the establishment of Nesavidhya. Her interests are in improving intact child survival and promoting preventional strategies in high risk infants.

His association with Dr. Jayam Subramanian is from his student days and has ever since been the most trusted and committed team member in the various research projects conducted by PRF. Now currently he is the director and head of pediatrics and neonatology at Deepam Hospital.
